Attendance
IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT HERE, THEY CANNOT LEARN (AND WE MISS THEM!)
We would really like to emphasize the importance of your student being in school every day, on time and not leaving early! Success starts with students arriving to school on time, every day!
Good attendance and punctuality is very important to educational success.
Maximum learning and achievement are greatly enhanced by daily attendance and interaction with the teacher, and total school attendance is a factor in the school accreditation process required by the state.
Students are required by state law to attend school regularly. This means students are to be in their classrooms by 7:45 a.m. and be here through the end of the school day at 2:15 p.m.
An accurate daily record is kept of all absences, tardies and early departures. Multiple unexcused absences or tardies violate state law and may be categorized as truancies. Situations resulting in multiple truancies or tardies will be turned over to the proper authorities.
Parents are required to notify the school office when a child is absent from school. Please call the office (664-7355) between 7:15 and 8:15 a.m. If a call cannot be made, then parents will need to send a note to school with the child on the day he/she returns explaining the absence.
